Service

GEUS' service application includes services for the following:

  • Electric
  • Water
  • Sewer
  • Garbage
  • Cable TV
  • Internet

Required Documents

The following documents are required for residential services

  • At least one form of government-issued identification
  • A copy of the lease or proof of ownership of the dwelling

The following is required for commercial services:

  • A Certificate of Occupancy (CO) or Temp Utility Permit from City of Greenville's Community Development Office at 2315 Johnson Street, 903-457-3160.
  • A letter of authorization on company letterhead stating who has permission to make changes to the account.
  • At least one form of government-issued identification if sole proprietorship
  • A copy of the lease or proof of ownership of the facility
  • A copy of the corporations' Articles of Incorporation
  • A copy of the State's Tax Exemption Form, if applicable

Deposit Information

  • Deposits requirements are based on individual applicant's credit history obtained from Experian.
  • Applicants have the option to allow GEUS to run their credit history or pay deposits at the poor rating level. Failure to accept or decline the credit check may delay services being activated.
  • Residential
    • Good = Electric - $0, Garbage - $0, Water - $0
    • Fair = Electric - $200, Garbage - $10, Water - $80
    • Poor = Electric - $275, Garbage - $15, Water - $120
    • emPOWER Self-Managed Pre-Pay Electric Service is available for only a $100 security deposit for residential customers only.
  • Commercial
    • Good = Electric - $0, Garbage - $0, Water - $0
    • Fair = Calculated at 2 times the highest bill for previous usage or usage comparable to a similar Greenville business (minimum required if lower than calculation); Electric - $250 (minimum), Garbage - $40 (minimum), Water - $150 (minimum)
    • Poor = Electric is calculated at 3 times the highest bill for previous usage or usage comparable to a similar Greenville business (minimum required if lower than calculation). Garbage and Water are calculated at 2 times the highest bill for previous usage or usage comparable to "like" business (minimum required if lower than calculation); Electric - $250 (minimum), Garbage - $40 (minimum), Water - $150 (minimum)
